Virginia Margaret Hildebrandt

November 19, 1923 - March 5, 2018

Virginia Margaret Hildebrandt, 94, passed peacefully into eternal life on March 5, 2018. She was born in Spring, TX on November 19, 1923, the daughter of Ernest and Ella Strack. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Richard Hildebrandt. She is survived by her children and children-in-law: Barry and Sylvia Hildebrandt of Red Bank, TN, Suzanne and Ronny Foster of Mexia, TX, and Becky and Walt Pohland of Georgetown, TX; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Doris Hildebrandt and Grace Goehner; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Joann Strack, Jr., and Don and Claudia Strack; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. From 1941 to 1948 she and Richard operated a general merchandise store in Klein, TX. They moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1948 and farmed cotton and grain. They joined Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Raymondville, where Virginia played the organ and piano, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, was active in the Ladies’ Society, and directed the choir. A devoted Christian, Virginia humbly served the Lord Jesus throughout her life. A funeral service will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 181 E. Wood Ave., Raymondville, TX at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Interment will follow in the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery, Raymondville, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be given to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 181 E. Wood Ave., Raymondville, TX 78580 or to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 W. Hidalgo, Raymondville, TX.
