March 25, 1930 - September 6, 2019

Raymondville, Texas Mildred Juanita Lemmons, age 89, of Raymondville, Texas died September 6, 2019 at her home in Raymondville, Texas. Mildred Juanita Hallmark was born March 25, 1930 in Denning, Texas, the daughter of Cruse and Ara (Nichols) Hallmark. She attended school in San Augustine and Denning until her family moved to Huntsville in 1941. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1947. On December 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harold Lemmons at the Methodist Church in Huntsville, Texas. After their marriage, the couple moved to San Perlita to farm with Harold’s family. She was employed by Pollard, Swayze and Hutchins Insurance for five and one-half years and in 1963 she became office secretary for Texas Farm Bureau in Raymondville. Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church of San Perlita and later the First Baptist Church of Raymondville where she was an active member of her Sunday school class. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Juanita spent many summers cooking and delivering hot meals to her husband; son and farm hands in the grain and cotton fields. She also enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. Juanita is survived by her son, Steve ( Thelma) Lemmons of Raymondville, TX; daughter Diane (Paul) Henderson of Harlingen, TX; foster daughter, Dr. Jane (Jim) Reed; 5 grandchildren, Natalie (Adrian) Cervantes of Harlingen, TX, Heather (Butch) Baggs of New Braunfels, TX and Kristen (Shiloh) Sosa of Freer, TX, Valerie Henderson of Denham Springs, LA and Doug (Chrissy) Henderson of Mustang, OK; 12 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Callie and Aidan Cervantes of Harlingen, Addison, Kylee and Brinley Sosa of Freer, TX, Brooke Henderson of Mustang, OK, Shawn and Shelton Henderson of Denham Springs, LA, Avery, Lindsie and Caleb Baggs of New Braunfels, TX; sister, Thelma Hallmark Johnson of Houston, TX; brothers Truitt (Pat) Hallmark of Houston, TX, Bob Hallmark of Denver, CO, and Jim (Linda) Hallmark of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cruse and Ara Hallmark; husband, Harold in 2010 and sister, Maxi Hallmark Merchant. Visitation for Juanita will be held on Sunday and Monday, September 8 and 9, 2019 at Duddlesten Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 301 N. 5th, Raymondville, TX, Interment will follow at the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery in Raymondville, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 301 N. 5th, Raymondville, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, Texas, (956) 689-2151.
