Mario A. Domino

July 15, 1936 - January 24, 2022

Raymondville, Texas Mario A. Domino, 85 of Raymondville, TX, entered into rest on January 24,2022 in Valley Baptist Medical Center. He was born on July 15,1936 in Raymondville, Tx. to Alfredo and Alicia (Vela) Rodriguez who preceded him in death, and youngest brother, Carlos Domino Rodriguez. He graduated from Raymondville High School in 1955 and attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio and University of Texas in Austin. He served in the United Stated Army. Mario was married to Renate Giloy and they soon started their family in Raymondville, Texas. He worked for the Valley Morning Star newspaper in Harlingen as a linotype operator as well as for his father's El Tiempo newspaper in Raymondville. He served with the Texas State Guard unit in Willacy County and as the Willacy County Veteran Service Officer. In 1973, he moved his family to Detroit, Michigan where he was employed with the State of Michigan until retirement. He is remembered by his family as having an appreciation for ol-time movies, especially with John Wayne, having a good sense of humor and loving to laugh. He spent the later years of his life in Harlingen and Raymondville, Texas. He is survived by his children; daughters, Heidi (Scott) Keena, Monika Domino, Gretchen Domino, son, Ric (Anne) Domino, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren all of Michigan, brother, Jaime (Adela) Rodriguez, sister, Donna (Zeke) Cavazos. Graveside Service will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 West Hidalgo, Raymondville, TX.
